Two reports, alike in indignation for developed nations’ insufficient progress towards reducing climate emissions, were released today.
Both the reports, from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Climate Analytics, criticise commitments to reduce carbon emissions. Twice the progress is needed to meet the Paris Agreement goal to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
The WMO’s report The State of the Climate in Asia 2023 highlights that Asian countries suffered the greatest number of climate related disasters.
