We are creatures of habit, but we can crawl out of hibernation, wake up, and change how we live! Here are some suggestions – or, if they are already obvious – friendly nudges!
1. Veganuary, cum, vegan-you-year
Of course you’ve heard of it, but this month could be a turning point in your life. Veganuary is a great way to get a taste – literally – of the vegan lifestyle, open our minds and get over that hump of new, unfamiliar experiences that can be a barrier to entry for those set in their ways. You may find, like this author, that almond, oat and coconut milk alternatives are much nicer in tea and coffee that cow’s milk. (Soya milk does seem to curdle in coffee though – mind you don’t waste a good cup of coffee that way!)
Like all the most exciting technologies, the rate of innovation seems to bee increasing, with new vegannovations on the market all the time!
2. Cleaner cleaning habits at home
You can dispose of less harmful chemicals though conscientiously choosing cleaning products for your house e.g. from GreenScents – and yourself e.g. with pampering products from Friendly Soap!
3. Refill shops
Reduce the amount of packaging you throw out – find your nearest Fill or other refill store!
4. Fix the roof before the sun shines
January-February is a great time to start investigating the ROI of solar panels before getting installation underway in March-April ready for May when the sunny days (May) come!
5. Insulate those hollow spaces in your home
We only have 2 of the coldest months left, but improving home insulation can be a quick job thanks to easy-to-apply Thermofoam.
