Copenhagen-based startup BeCause is reshaping how hospitality manages sustainability with an AI-powered hub streamlining sustainability management.
Ineffective sustainability management costs the industry over €7Bn (£6Bn) annually, but BeCause’s innovative approach offers significant savings.

BeCause has just secured €1.75 million in seed funding, co-led by Denmark’s Ugly Duckling Ventures and Estonia’s Superangel.io. This brings BeCause’s total funding to €2.4 million, having received €416k from Danish investors Carsten Mahler and Daniel Heskia back in May.
The company, with over 20,000 hotels onboard, aims to accelerate its mission. BeCause’s AI-powered platform eliminates manual data collection, automates communication, and serves as a centralized hub for sustainability data. This latest funding round positions BeCause to meet the growing demand for its solutions, attracting major brands like Google, easyJet, TUI, Booking.com and GreenKey.
